High-level talks were held between the Presidents of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Kazakhstan

On November 25, 2025, on the second day of the state visit of the Head of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Kazakhstan, high-level talks were held between Presidents Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

In the morning, the presidential motorcade arrived at the Akorda Palace. Here, the Head of Turkmenistan was warmly welcomed by Kazakh leader Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

Then, an official welcoming ceremony for the distinguished Turkmen guest took place.

The Head of state met with members of the official delegation of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Members of the official government delegation of Turkmenistan were introduced to the Kazakh leader.

Presidents Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Kassym-Jomart Tokayev walked onto a specially installed podium.

The commander of the Honor Guard company made a ceremonial report. The national anthems of the two countries were played. The Heads of state inspected the Honor Guard and paid their respects to the National Flag of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Following the official photo opportunity, bilateral talks took place between Presidents Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

Warmly greeting the Head of state, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev thanked President Serdar Berdimuhamedov for accepting the invitation to visit Kazakhstan and expressed confidence that his current state visit will become an important milestone in strengthening the traditionally friendly Kazakh-Turkmen relations. Expressing sincere gratitude for the invitation to pay a state visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as for the warm welcome, hospitality, and cordiality extended to the Turkmen delegation, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov took the opportunity to convey to President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev the heartfelt greetings and best wishes of the National Leader of the Turkmen People Hero Arkadag.

The Head of Kazakhstan conveyed his best wishes to the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, noting the National Leader's enormous contribution to strengthening the traditionally friendly interstate ties.

As President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized, today relations between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Kazakhstan are developing based on the principles of friendship, brotherhood, and good-neighborliness, encompassing a wide range of political, diplomatic, trade-economic, cultural-humanitarian areas. At the same time, it was emphasized that the countries are productively collaborating politically and diplomatically on important issues on the global agenda.

Both countries cooperate effectively within international and regional organizations, primarily the United Nations.

The talks then continued in an expanded format, with the participation of members of the official delegations of both countries.

Warmly welcoming the distinguished Turkmen guest once again, the President of Kazakhstan noted with satisfaction that the Kazakh and Turkmen peoples are fraternal peoples, bound by ties of friendship, shared history, and spiritual and cultural values.

The President of Kazakhstan expressed confidence that, through joint efforts, the strategic partnership will continue to strengthen in the interests of the two fraternal peoples.

It was also emphasized that productive contacts have been established between our countries at all levels, and fruitful interaction is taking place within multilateral structures.

Speaking about the dynamically developing bilateral cultural-humanitarian ties, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan have erected monuments to outstanding figures who made significant contributions to the spiritual and cultural heritage of both nations, including Magtymguly Fragi in Astana and Kurmangazy Sagyrbayuly and Abai Kunanbayev in Ashgabat.

Kazakhstan supports Turkmenistan's peace-loving policy and initiatives aimed at strengthening peace and sustainable development in the region, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized. In this regard, the Kazakh leader confirmed his participation in the representative forum, which will be held in Ashgabat in December.

Then the floor was given to the Head of Turkmenistan.

Expressing profound gratitude to President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev for the invitation to visit the Republic of Kazakhstan on a state visit and the hospitality extended, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that in recent years, interstate dialogue has reached a qualitatively new level.

It was emphasized that both countries share common historical roots, cultural and spiritual values, as well as traditions and customs carefully preserved and passed down from generation to generation.

It was noted that in the political and diplomatic sphere, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan are constructively cooperating on pressing issues on the global agenda. Turkmenistan also reaffirmed its readiness to further strengthen its partnership within the framework of the Consultative Meetings of the Heads of State of Central Asia, the "CA+" formats, and other regional cooperation mechanisms. Particular emphasis was placed on the importance of Azerbaijan's inclusion in the Consultative Meetings of the Heads of State of Central Asia as a full participant.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that environmental cooperation should be strengthened on waste recycling projects, green construction, and the protection of the ecosystems of the Aral and Caspian Seas.

The Head of state confirmed Turkmenistan's readiness for further cooperation with Kazakhstan in the energy sector and its openness to exchanging experience in improving the efficiency and environmental safety of hydrocarbon production. Emphasis was also placed on the importance of expanding partnership in the electric power, chemical industry, metallurgy, mechanical engineering, textiles, petrochemicals, gas processing, and urban development sectors.

Transport and logistics were also identified as strategic areas of partnership. The digital economy and innovation are also an important area of bilateral cooperation, said President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

The agricultural sector remains a key area of cooperation. The rational use of water resources was named among the pressing issues on the bilateral and regional agendas.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that cultural and humanitarian spheres are an important component of bilateral cooperation.

Concluding his speech, the Head of state thanked President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev for his personal contribution to strengthening Turkmen-Kazakh relations, expressing confidence that the traditional fraternal ties between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Kazakhstan will continue to dynamically develop and deepen in the spirit of mutual respect, trust, and mutually beneficial partnership for the benefit of our peoples.
