On August 7, 2025, on the sidelines of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, a meeting was held between Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Ahmet Gurbanov and Ambassador of the Slovak Republic to Turkmenistan (with residence in Tashkent) Viktor Borecky.

During the meeting, the parties assessed the current level of cooperation between the two countries and discussed priority areas both bilaterally and within the framework of international structures.

The parties discussed the achievements of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Countries (LLDC3) and agreed to continue constructive cooperation on international platforms.

The effectiveness of A. Gurbanov's visit to the Slovak Republic in 2024 to hold political consultations and bilateral meetings was emphasized.

At the meeting, the Slovak side expressed interest in participating in the International Forum of Peace and Trust, scheduled to be held in Ashgabat in December of this year in honor of the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality.
