Meeting held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the UNDP Resident Representative in Turkmenistan

On 26 October 2026, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov met with Narine Saakyan, Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Turkmenistan.

During the meeting, the sides discussed current issues of cooperation between Turkmenistan and UNDP, as well as prospects for further expanding their engagement in the implementation of the country’s national socio-economic development priorities.

Particular attention was paid to the implementation of the Country Programme Framework between Turkmenistan and UNDP for 2026–2030, which covers public administration improvement, digital transformation, economic development, environmental protection and the social sector.

The importance of joint efforts to achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, strengthen inter-agency cooperation and introduce modern approaches to addressing key sustainable development challenges was also emphasized.

The sides further exchanged views on advancing practical cooperation, implementing joint projects and identifying promising areas of engagement in line with Turkmenistan’s national priorities.

Following the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their mutual interest in continuing constructive dialogue and consistently strengthening the partnership between Turkmenistan and UNDP.
