Meeting between the President of Turkmenistan and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia

On October 8, 2026, a meeting was held between the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, who had arrived in Turkmenistan to participate in the high-level events at the National Tourist Zone “Avaza”.

After warmly welcoming the guest, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed gratitude for the acceptance of the invitation to visit Turkmenistan to participate in the meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the CIS. The participation of the Republic of Armenia in such an important event has special significance.

The Head of State noted that Turkmenistan highly values ​​the personal attention of the Prime Minister of Armenian to the development of regional cooperation. The meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Commonwealth is viewed as an opportunity to define new areas of partnership and implement new projects. In this regard, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed his assuredness that the current visit of the Head of Government of the Republic of Armenia to the country would contribute to the further strengthening of bilateral relations.

Expressing gratitude for the hospitality and the invitation to the CIS Council of Heads of State meeting, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan emphasized that hosting such a major forum in Turkmenistan demonstrates the country’s commitment to enhancing regional cooperation. The Prime Minister of Armenia conveyed warm greetings from the President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan to the President of Turkmenistan, as well as to the National Leader of the Turkmen people.

Taking this opportunity, the Head of the Government of Armenia also conveyed greetings to the National Leader of the Turkmen people.

On his part, the Head of Turkmenistan conveyed his best wishes to the President of Armenia.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that Turkmenistan and the Republic of Armenia have long demonstrated a model of successful and constructive cooperation on the international stage, particularly within the UN framework, which is evidenced by their mutual support for initiatives aimed at strengthening global peace and ensuring sustainable development.

Noting with satisfaction the steady development of relations between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Armenia, the Head of State highlighted that the solid foundation of their long-standing bilateral cooperation is based on mutual trust, respect, openness, and regard for national interests.

It was emphasized that the progressive development of this cooperation is inseparably linked to active high-level political dialogue. The Turkmen-Armenian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation plays a pivotal role in strengthening this dialogue, serving as an effective mechanism for implementing significant projects.

Noting to the substantial potential for further increasing trade and economic ties, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov reaffirmed Turkmenistan’s readiness to pursue new, promising initiatives.

The cultural and humanitarian sphere also plays a vital role in the partnership’s development. Turkmenistan intends to strengthen these ties through events such as Days of Culture, thematic exhibitions, and joint scientific forums, all of which will serve to bring the two peoples closer together.

Expressing the readiness of Turkmenistan to continue expanding cooperation in energy and logistics, as well as to advance the ongoing deepening of humanitarian dialogue, the President expressed his confidence that relations between the two countries would continue to develop steadily for the benefit of both peoples. In conclusion, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan expressed assuredness in further development of constructive interstate cooperation and exchanged best wishes.
