Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan held a meeting with the UN Resident Coordinator in Turkmenistan

On 30 June 2026, a meeting was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov and the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Turkmenistan, Dmitry Shlapachenko, who is concluding his mission in Turkmenistan.

During the meeting, the parties discussed current issues of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the United Nations system, as well as prospects for further development of constructive cooperation within the framework of achieving shared Sustainable Development Goals.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan noted the significant contribution of UN Resident Coordinator Dmitry Shlapachenko to strengthening partnership relations between Turkmenistan and the UN system, as well as to facilitating the implementation of joint programmes and projects aimed at socio-economic development and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals. He wished him success in his future professional activities and expressed confidence that his further work would continue to contribute to the development of international cooperation.

It was emphasized that Turkmenistan attaches great importance to the development of multifaceted cooperation with the United Nations, viewing the UN as a key international partner in matters of peace, security, and sustainable development.

At the end of the meeting, Dmitry Shlapachenko expressed gratitude to the leadership of Turkmenistan for the support and assistance provided during the period of his mission in the country.
