DELEGATION OF TURKMENISTAN COMPLETES WORKING VISIT TO THE UAE

On September 14-16, 2022, a series of meetings took place between the delegation of Turkmenistan headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Berdyniyaz Myatiev and officials of the United Arab Emirates.

In particular, during the visit, the Turkmen delegation held talks with the Deputy Director General of the General Directorate of Civil Aviation of the UAE Omar bin Ghalebi, the heads of the UAE Railway Authority "Etihad Rail", the Deputy Director General of the Directorate of  Economic Development and Tourism of the Government of Dubai Ali Ibrahimi and with the managers of the company Dubai Nasdaq UAE.

During the talks, issues related to strengthening relations between the two countries in trade-economic and transport areas were discussed. In particular, they discussed the use of the possibilities of sea, rail and air transport, including port infrastructure, for the development of bilateral and multilateral trade and economic relations.

In recent years, UAE cargo and civil aviation has reached new heights. In particular, Turkmenistan was one of the first countries to establish air communication with Dubai Airlines. Thus, the leaders and specialists of Turkmenistan Airlines and other transport organizations discussed their cooperation and further steps with the General Directorate of Civil Aviation of the UAE.

Discussions were held with the leadership of the Railway Department of the UAE "Etihad Rail" on the development of relations with the agency "Türkmendemirýollary" of Turkmenistan and the creation of a transport corridor UAE-Iran-Turkmenistan, as well as UAE permission to join the North-South Transport Corridor.

Ali Ibrahimi, Deputy Director General of the Economic Development and Tourism Directorate of the Government of Dubai, spoke about the achievements of the two countries in the areas of economy and tourism, and also noted the success of the international exhibition EXPO, held in Dubai last year.

In addition, a meeting was held with the management of Dubai Nasdaq, UAE, where issues of cooperation in the field of automated document management on the stock exchange, training of highly qualified specialists and the use of securities on the stock exchange were discussed.
